2013 Marks 125th Anniversary The Salvation Army has been a constant shield of hope providing ministry and service to Linn County for 125 years. The organization is recognizing this milestone with special projects, events and activities throughout the year. In the month of May, look for our anniversary banners hanging in downtown Cedar Rapids. Farmer's Market - Come see us at the downtown Farmer's Market on Saturday, June 1st. We'll be in Greene Square Park with the inflatable kettle. A Night at the Ballpark with the Kernels - Friday, June 7th is Salvation Army night at the ballpark. We'll have several promotions going on that evening in partnership with the Kernels. The team will be wearing Salvation Army jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The Salvation Army donut girls will also be passing out free donuts at the gate before the game. June 7th is National Donut Day, a significant date to the organization - click on the link to learn more. The kettle was fabricated with donated time and materials and is valued at over $30,000. This special kettle is making appearances across the community throughout the campaign. | Thank you to our friends from Cost Cutters and City Looks and thank you to their fantastic customers. Their holiday promtion raised $23,396.14 for the red kettle campaign. The money will be shared by several Salvation Army locations. Much appreciated! |
